A tight eastern-suburbs terrace transformed by a copper-clad gable addition to the rear. Recycled brick courtyards and sandstone steps ease the transition from the original house to a new planted pool garden.
Materials are worked hard: raw brick, warm timbers, tumbled sandstone. The addition reads as its own chapter rather than a pastiche of the heritage front.
